MSC CoC – Sustainable Fishing
The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is an international non-profit organization established to address the problem of unsustainable fishing and to ensure the future supply of seafood.
The vision of the organization is to ensure that oceans are teeming with life—today, tomorrow, and for generations to come. A sustainable seafood market is vital to making this vision a reality.
MSC CoC is a traceability standard applied across the entire seafood supply chain—from ocean to shelf.
Every company involved in the supply chain must be certified according to the standard. This ensures that consumers can trust that the seafood they purchase comes from certified sustainable fisheries.
ASC CoC – Sustainable Aquaculture
The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) was founded in 2010 by WWF and IDH (The Dutch Sustainable Trade Initiative). It is an independent, non-profit organization with a global presence.
ASC’s vision is to transform aquaculture into an environmentally sustainable and socially responsible industry through the use of effective market mechanisms that create value across the entire supply chain.
ASC CoC is a traceability standard applied throughout the seafood supply chain—from aquaculture to shelf.
Each company involved in the supply chain must be certified according to the standard. This ensures that consumers can trust that the seafood originates from certified sustainable aquaculture sources.
